A former doctor, Nathaniel Spencer, has been charged with 45 sexual offences against 38 patients who were under his care. The alleged offenses took place between 2017 and 2021.
The charges follow a detailed investigation by Staffordshire Police into alleged sexual offenses committed at two specific institutions:
- Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent.
- Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley.

Legal Proceedings and Public Interest
Ben Samples, a Crown Prosecution Service deputy chief prosecutor, confirmed that the evidence had been carefully reviewed to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that pursuing criminal proceedings is in the public interest.
Mr. Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on January 20.
